ABOUT JAPAN KARATEDO MIKUUKAI
Mikuukai stands apart as we are not a style but a system of karatedo. Our approach revolves around creating a flexible and adaptable framework, allowing practitioners to tailor their karate journey to individual preferences and goals. Embracing innovation and personalization, we are committed to fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment for all our members.
We prioritize the accessibility of karatedo to individuals from all walks of life, irrespective of their motivations. Whether you’re pursuing fitness, embracing traditional values, seeking discipline, enjoying sport and competition, striving for personal growth, or simply exploring a social hobby, we extend a warm welcome to all who wish to learn.
Japan Karatedo Mikuukai is a modern, ethical, and inclusive karatedo organization rooted in traditional Japanese and Okinawan karatedo. While our technical foundation is derived from traditional karate, our official name "Mikuukai" represents innovation, adaptability, and openness. We consciously avoid including "Genseiryū" in our formal name, respecting historical sensitivities and aiming to create a positive, forward-looking environment for all students.
At Mikuukai, we believe karate-dō is not just tradition — it is a living path of continuous growth, character, and contribution.
Drawing from over three decades of international karate experience, our distinctive approach integrates foundational elements from traditional Japanese Karatedo. We have experience in the All Japan Karatedo Federation, Okinawan karate, full-contact karate, self-defense, and sport-based karate and have included elements of all in our system. This inclusive approach empowers our students to choose the karatedo path that aligns with their unique goals and preferences.
Mikuukai offers a comprehensive learning experience in karatedo, covering budo, sport karate, self-defense, and kobudo (weaponry). We prioritize fitness, traditions, and manners while fostering confidence and ensuring a safe environment for all. Encouraging family bonding and inspiring children to surpass their parents, our school values parent involvement—whether it involves training alongside your child, supporting the school, or assisting at competitions and training camps.
In our commitment to growth and development, we actively participate in seminars and training camps annually. We maintain robust connections with other karate schools both in Japan and internationally, fostering relationships with practitioners from Australia, Brazil, the USA, and the UK. Additionally, Mikuukai proudly holds membership in the Japan Goshin Karatedo Organization, an international body dedicated to advancing the practice of karatedo worldwide.
Join us at Mikuukai, where we embrace the true essence of karate, cultivating a diverse community of practitioners dedicated to evolving and thriving together.
Constant learning is essential to the constant improvement of the Mikuukai system. Teaching at International seminars and regular participation in seminars is how we work to improve our system.
Mikuukai regularly hosts visiting karate practitioners and provides an inclusive and open learning environment where they can immerse themselves without cultural barriers.
We provide services to international students and schools coming to Japan. We offer karate experience in Japan and also provide physical education classes for international students.
